Outeniqua Moon Guest Farm is also home of the Heavy Draft Horse Foundation, a conservation project to protect and save of the Heavy Draft Horses of a hundred years ago who are on the brink of extinction and are rarer than Rhinos. Just by visiting the farm you are contributing towards saving the heavy draft horses. Experience magical moments with these gentle giant horses and the wonderful hospitality of Outeniqua Moon Guest Farm.

Our stallions are stunning, and you get to sit on the biggest horse in SA – a huge stallion named Shadowfax who weighs 1250 kgs and is a gentle giant.
The tour includes foal petting if we have foals, which is a unique experience. The tour ends with being able to sit on one of our gentle giant horses and being led around the garden the tour takes an hour and a half.
Rates
Carriage ride R150 per adult, R120 per child under 10. Free for children under 4.
Combined carriage and paddock tour discounted by R50 – R250 per adult, R200 per child under 10. Free for children under 4.

Booking Instructions
Booking for our activities is essential. In order to book your experience, please phone, WhatsApp, or email us on the following details and wait for booking confirmation. Please include your name, number of visitors, requested date and time, and the type of activities you’d like to book.
Facilities
- Free Wi-Fi is available in all suites and the main buildings.
- Satellite/DSTV package is available in all suites.
- All suites have a separate bathroom with a full shower and bath.
- Parking is free for the duration of your stay.
- We have a serene garden with indigenous birds, 25-meter long ozone (chlorine-free) swimming pool with a kids’ water slide, trampoline, and inviting picnic or braai (barbeque) facilities. Your children can delight in the children’s playground.
- Explore our enchanting indigenous forest.
- Indigenous small game including Bush Buck, Duiker, the Cape Hare and Otter can be seen on the farm from time to time.
- Hiking trails for the active, game and bird watchers.
- Mountain biking.
- Free grooming and feeding of the Horses.

Activities & Services
Optional Extras upon request, not included in the daily room rate which can be pre-booked in advance:
- We offer Teas/coffee/cool drinks and soda floats + cakes of the day.
- Memorable breakfast – Super breakfast starting at R 125 per person.
- Excellent evening dinner – Offered on request starting at R 225 per person.
- Child menu – A lower rate for children’s meals starting at R 125 as determined by the requirements of each child.
- Laundry service – Wash R150, Iron R150 (5kg load)
- Room cleaning – Optional daily room cleaning rate of R250 per day day.
- Baby-sitters are available – R300 per day
- Extra Bed – At a rate of R250 per day
- The morning carriage ride and tour starts at 10:00am. The afternoon carriage ride and tour starts at 14:00pm.
- Tours include the chance to sit on one of our giant horses, a foal experience and the opportunity to meet Shadowfax, our beautiful stallion, who is now the biggest horse in South Africa! FREE FOR PERSONS STAYING OVER
- Carriage ride = R 150 per adult, R120 per child
- Horse riding (experienced riders only) – 30 min = R 150
- Carriage driving lessons = R300 p/h

- Hartenbos and Klein Brak beaches are 15 minutes away. Mossel Bay Point is 20 minutes away.
- Shark cage diving, fishing and ocean boat rides are on offer in Mossel Bay.

- Ostrich Farms are 30 minutes away and Cango Caves 45 minutes away.
